Configure a dedicated page for managing agreements from MobilePay

Senest redigeret:

When the donor clicks Manage agreement in the MobilePay app, they are guided to a simple form where they can stop the agreement. This simple form can advantageously be embedded on your own website, so that on the same page you can also highlight what the donation supports. This can help reduce the share of donors who choose to stop their agreement – which is, of course, great.

The setup consists of four steps:

  1. Create a dedicated page on your website

  2. Obtain a specific script that ensures the correct agreement is displayed and can be stopped

  3. Embed the script on the page

  4. Send us the link so we can direct donors to your dedicated page instead of the standard form

Note: The standard script will only allow the agreement to be terminated. If additional rules need to be implemented, this will often depend on the type of agreement. For example, you may want to allow regular donations to be downgraded, while the same does not apply for memberships. You may also want to allow donors to change frequency or payment method, or switch from membership to supporter. If that is the case, a custom solution will need to be developed for you. Please contact support to hear more about options and pricing.

1. Create a dedicated page on your website

First and foremost, you should create a dedicated page on your website for this purpose. The page must be hidden from navigation and search engines, as the form will only work directly from MobilePay. Therefore, donors should not be able to find the page on their own – only via the button in the app. Consider naming it something like “stop-agreement” or “manage-agreement”, so that the donor can understand its purpose directly from the URL.

In addition to the embedded script we provide, you are encouraged to add all the best supporting content you can. Think visually – images and videos are quick to interpret and can shift the perspective from a rational view (the cost) to an emotional one (the good feeling). Make it as clear as possible what your organisation can achieve with the donor’s ongoing contribution. Does it equal clean water for a family for a month, the care of an injured animal, or a few square metres of protected forest?

2. Download the script

As mentioned, you must embed a special script on the page, which ensures that the correct form for cancelling the agreement is displayed. You will find this script in Settings, under the section Cancel subscription and payment method.

Tip: Do you already have a custom-built utility that includes the option to stop the agreement? Then it can be used instead. Just be aware that the stop agreement function must be available for all types of agreements. When in doubt, it’s better to ask support one time too many.

3. Insert the script on the page

The script then needs to be embedded on your website. Depending on your CMS (WordPress, Umbraco, etc.), this must be done in different ways. Reach out to your CMS provider if you are unsure, but start by looking at how to embed standard forms – it’s the same method, just with a different code.

4. Send us the link

Once the code has been inserted and the page is ready (and published), you must send us the URL via the form below. We will then ensure that all existing agreements also point to that page if a donor clicks on Manage agreement in the app.
