As fundraisers, we usually prefer payment methods where the payment is collected immediately – such as MobilePay or card. However, there may be situations where you still want to offer other payment options, for example for corporate donations.
This guide helps you to enable third-party payment methods, insert them into your form, and extract the data. Third-party in this context means that OnlineFundraising does not process the payment, but only collects information about the donor.
|
Note: From a data perspective, a third-party payment is not an actual payment, but only an intention. In the data, it will therefore appear in the same way as a newsletter signup or similar – i.e. a non-transactional form submission. This also means that you cannot use OnlineFundraising’s functionality to refund a donation, change the payment method or upgrade the amount. The latter is particularly challenging with third-party Betalingsservice, which is why we always recommend that you primarily offer payment methods that can be handled directly within the solution. |
Adjust settings
Start by adding the payment methods you want to offer to donors. This is done in the Settings menu, located on the left-hand side.
Tick the boxes next to the methods you want to use. In the example here, we want to be able to offer invoice and EAN in some forms:
Click Save at the bottom of the page to confirm your changes.
Add payment methods in the form
In your form builder, you now have additional options:
Add the desired payment method(s) by clicking on them.
Be aware that your fields must match the options. For example, if you choose invoice, fields such as company name and CVR are required.
Here, it may be easiest to place CVR at the top, so that the data is retrieved automatically. See the guide for corporate donations >
Remember to test before you publish the form live!
| Note: Make sure to test that the data is also transferred correctly to your CRM and, if relevant, your accounting solution, so you can invoice/send giro slips, etc. |
Export data manually
If you need to export data manually, please note that this must be done from the dataset. As mentioned, this is only an intention of payment – not an actual payment. Therefore, the data is structured differently compared to payments processed via MobilePay, card, or Betalingsservice through us.
When creating an export, you need to choose:
Metadata > DataSets
Then you must add a few filters to get the correct (and relevant amount of) data.
You should filter by:
FormId: Choose the form from which you want to export data
Payment method type: For example, Invoice
Created Timestamp: Choose an appropriate period
This will give you the data for everyone who wanted to pay by invoice. Whether the invoice was subsequently paid, reminders sent, etc., is not something you can manage from OnlineFundraising. This is best handled by your accounting solution, which has built-in logic for that.
