Release 2026-01-21

Senest redigeret:

This release includes updates to:

  • Custom Fields (New Module)

  • Settings

  • Communication using Custom Fields

Custom Fields

This new module is located under the menu item "Data Sets" and provides the organization with insights into the optional fields used across various engagement methods, such as Forms, Onboarding, SMS, Payment Receiver, and custom integrations.

The module displays all optional fields that are not part of OnlineFundraising's standard fields, such as "newsletter," "membership type," "campaign name," or "crm_command."

Organizations can choose to create new optional fields via the menu item, which will then guide the configuration of fields in, for example, Onboarding's Workflow. Alternatively, the module can automatically register each time a new field is used, ensuring that other modules are guided accordingly.

Ideally, the menu item is used to assign each field a description and, if applicable, predefined options. This ensures that colleagues are informed about how each field is used internally within the organization.

Our goal is for this to provide clarity, help identify inconsistencies (such as spelling errors or fields with similar naming), and simplify field configuration, thereby reducing errors like spelling mistakes.

Guidance from the "Custom Fields" module has already been implemented in the "Payment Receiver" module and will soon be available in SMS, Onboarding, Export, and Communication, as mentioned below.

New Support Guides

  • Introduction to Custom Fields
  • Create and Customize a Custom Field

Note: We recommend reviewing the fields you are already using.

Settings

We have updated the "Settings" menu item with our new design system.

Communication

With this release, it has become easier to add so-called "merge tags" to your organization's emails. The list of suggestions now includes both system fields (such as "amount," "firstName") and automatically registered "custom fields", as described above.
