How to Find a Donor / Member and Their Payments/Agreements

This guide will help you find a donor or member, along with their related payments and payment agreements. You will learn how to locate the contact and what information you can view about them.

 

What You’ll Need

To find a donor or member in OnlineFundraising, you can search by their name, email address, phone number, or the agreement’s ID (subscriptionGuid).
You cannot search by card information or any other payment-specific data, and you can, of course, only search for information the donor has provided themselves.

How to Search

Once you have the necessary information, you can locate the donor/member either via the search function on the homepage or under Transactional > Contacts using the search field there.
In this example, we will search from the homepage:

You will now see a list of contacts that match the search criteria.

Note:
A person may appear as multiple contacts in OnlineFundraising. This happens because the system creates a new contact for each standalone payment or payment agreement, unless you are using a CRM integration that merges contacts.

Click on the desired contact to view details about their data, payments, and payment agreements. The contact will open in a new window.

Master Data

In the top left-hand corner, you’ll find the contact’s master data: name, email address, phone number, etc.
To view the full data set for the contact, click Edit — this also allows you to update the information.

Payment Method

Below the master data on the left-hand side, you’ll find details of the active payment method.
Clicking on it will show more information and give you the option to cancel the payment method.

Change Log

At the bottom left, you’ll see a log of all changes made since the contact was created.

Agreements (Subscriptions)

In the top right-hand corner, you’ll find information about the donor’s agreement(s), if there are any recurring agreements linked to the contact.
Here, you’ll see an overview of the status, the date of the next charge, and when the agreement was created.
Clicking on the agreement will take you directly to it, where you can make adjustments, including re-sending the confirmation e-mail (receipt). 

Payments

At the bottom right, you’ll find all payments made by that contact.
If the donor has a recurring agreement, all charges will be listed here, with the most recent at the top.
Want to see more details or perhaps process a refund? Click on the payment in question.

Getting Help from Support

Need help making changes to a contact, agreements, or payments? Contact support — but do not send personally identifiable information.
The easiest way is to find the contact and click Share in the top right-hand corner.

This will copy a direct link to the contact containing the OnlineFundraising ID — which is not personally identifiable to others. Paste this into your support request, and we can easily locate the same contact.
