How to set up campaigns without reply messages

Campaigns without reply messages are for those who plan to follow up on submitted text messages outside of OnlineFundraising. For example, text messages on this campaign may need to be routed to an external system, such as a CRM system, that can send messages, create more advanced communication flows, or something else entirely. In other words, it's possible to build the logic for what needs to happen and what message needs to be sent into the system you're integrating to.

1. CREATE A NEW CAMPAIGN 

First, go to SMS Inbound -> Campaigns -> Create new campaign

2. CHOOSE A NAME FOR THE CAMPAIGN 

Next, choose a name for your campaign. The name will only appear on the list, under Campaigns, and will therefore not be visible to the person sending the text message.

3. CHOOSE THE TYPE OF REPLY MESSAGE 

Under Select service, choose the type of response message you want to create: select No response.

4. ADD METADATA 

If you want to attach some extra data to your text message campaign, you can add metadata. Metadata is only available in OnlineFundraising and the person sending the text message cannot see this data. An example of metadata could be, Key: "Campaign" Value: "wintercampaign2022". 

Metadata can be retrieved through API and exploited in integration to an external system, for example, CRM, and is therefore particularly relevant for this type of campaign.

5. SAVE THE CAMPAIGN

Finally, all that's left to do is press Create to create the campaign (or Update if you're making changes). If it's a new campaign, go under your keyword and select this campaign. This is described in our guide to reservation of a new keyword.
