How to convert e-mails from the legacy editor to the rich editor

Senest redigeret:

If your communications (receipt messages) are still in the old editor, you are missing out on a lot of functionality. Partly in terms of the editor itself, where the new one is far more user-friendly, and partly in terms of the options for tailoring the e-mail so that it has the greatest possible impact on the donor.

So if your communications display warning triangles like this, it’s time to update them:

How to convert an old e-mail

Start by clicking on the communication you need to move from the old editor to the new one. It may not apply to all templates within the same communication – in that case you will see the warning symbol next to the template(s) that still need converting.

Click on the template that needs converting so it expands. Hover over the e-mail and click Edit:

Your communication will now be shown in the old editor. Copy the text if you wish!
Click the button Switch to visual editor in the top right-hand corner.

Note: We recommend copying the text before converting. We do our best to transfer as much of the original text as possible, but depending on the formatting of your e-mail not everything can be “translated”. That’s why we advise copying the text so it isn’t lost.

Your e-mail is now converted into the new editor. You can find an introduction to the editor here >

Do you need to convert all e-mails?

If your organisation is like most, you have many communications stored. It is not necessarily required to convert all e-mails into the new editor. You need to distinguish between those still in use:

  • Those linked to an active form that can be found on the website or elsewhere,
    and/or

  • Those used on active agreements, where for example an upgrade or renewal template may come into play.

Unsure whether the form is still in use? You can clarify this in several ways:
