If a contact requests anonymisation, it is essential to ensure that their information is deleted effectively, making it impossible to restore the information.
1. Locate the contact
The first step is to find the donor or member requesting to be anonymised. Use the search function to locate the contact via their phone number, email address, National ID, Business code, or External ID (e.g., a CRM reference).
1. Navigate to Transactional > Contacts, in the OnlineFundraising main menu.
2. Enter the phone number, email address, National ID, Business code, or External ID in the search field
3. The system will display any contacts in OnlineFundraising matching the entered data
2. Open the contact and prepare for anonymisation
Before you can proceed with anonymisation, ensure the contact has no:
- Pending payments (see how to resolve this)
- Pending/active payment method(s)(see how to resolve this)
- Active subscription(s) (see how to resolve this)
3. Anonymise the contact
Once you have confirmed that no pending or active items exist, you are ready to anonymise the contact.
1. Open the contact's details page
2. Click the Anonymise button at the top of the page
The contact is now anonymised. No notifications, such as SMS or email, will be sent, as the donor/member's data no longer exists. The contact's status will update to Anonymised.
