How to update name, domain, and logo in OnlineFundraising

If your organization changes its name, domain, or logo, it is important that you update this information in OnlineFundraising. Follow this step-by-step guide to ensure that everything is updated correctly.

Name change

Update your forms

If you change your name, the Agreement name may need to be updated on all your forms:

  • Go to Form Builder in the main menu of OnlineFundraising

  • Open the first form in the list. Under Purposes, does your old name appear in Personal agreement name or Personal agreement description? If yes, it needs to be corrected.

  • You should also check your terms and conditions – your name will typically appear there as well:

  • You can update it manually on the form for all future agreements. Remember to review all forms – and feel free to archive those you no longer use. Note down the ID of the forms where you change the name.
  • Contact support to have your name and description changed on existing agreements. Please include the IDs of the forms where the text needs to be updated – this makes the process easier for us.

Update your communications

Are you only changing your name, or also your domain? If you are changing your domain as well, you will need to update it afterwards. See domain changes here >

Even if you change your name, address, etc. under Settings, unfortunately this will not automatically update in your communications. Existing merge fields will still use the old name – so you will need to update it manually.

  • Go through all Communications and update them. As mentioned, merge fields are not updated automatically and therefore need to be replaced with your name manually. Also remove {{ }}

Update both the sender name (as in the example above), the name in the text, the name in the footer, etc.

  • Be aware that old communications may still be in use, meaning that recurring agreements will, for example, use the Retention section from these. So if a card expires or a payment is declined, the donor will receive that communication. This means you also need to update old communications if there are still active recurring agreements.

  • Also check any text for Betalingsservice, SMS, etc., if your name appears there.

Update settings

For the sake of good order, we ask you to update Settings so that we are both future-proof and have updated information about you:

  • Go to Settings in the main menu, update the relevant fields, and click Save at the bottom. 

External updates 

  • Update your name with Betalingsservice (Mastercard)

  • Update your name with MobilePay (in the MobilePay portal)

  • Contact your gateway (Nets Easy, Quickpay, ePay) and ask them to update your name

  • Send us your new name so we can update it on invoices, etc.

Domain change

When you change your domain, you need to be aware of a whole range of updates. The following only describes changes related to the domain itself (the URL), so if you are also changing your name and/or logo, please follow the steps in those two sections as well.

Validate new domain

An important first step in the process is to ensure that your domain is validated again.

  • Go to emailvalidation.onlinefundraising.dk and enter the new domain (without www or http) – click Create/Check
  • Copy the new values and insert them into your DNS. Make sure that the exact values are entered.

  • Check that your validation is set up correctly on the same page:

Update your forms

Yes! There are also links to your website in the forms.

  • Check that the Success landing page on all forms does not redirect to the old domain. Read more here if needed.

  • Also update links to the privacy policy and/or payment terms in the forms.

Update your communications

Once the domain has been validated, you can update your communications. 

  • Start by updating the link to your renewal page under Settings. Remember that the pages must contain the correct script - feel free to follow the guide here.

  • Update all Retention communications (renewal and update) so they contain the correct link.

  • Update the sender email on all your communications:

  • Check and update all links in your communications. Pay attention to links on images, in the footer, and links to terms and conditions and privacy policy if these are hosted on your website.

External updates

  • Contact your gateway (Nets Easy, Quickpay, ePay) and ask them to update your domain name

  • Adjust the link in the MobilePay portal

  • Send us your new invoice email if it is being updated.

  • Notify us if users change their email address

Logo change

If you are changing your logo, it needs to be updated in various places. If you are also updating your name and/or domain, make sure to follow the guides for those as well.

Update your communications

  • Replace images and banners in all communications if they contain the old logo

External updates

  • Update the logo in the MobilePay portal

  • Send us the new logo for MobilePay Online (payment gateway), and we will upload it for you

  • If you are a customer with ePay, OnlineFundraising needs to update the logo on your MobilePay Online solution. Send your new logo to support.
