Using the Payment Receiver module, you can automatically import data on the donations you receive via MobilePay numbers into OnlineFundraising. If you have an integration between OnlineFundraising and your CRM system, the data will automatically be forwarded from there, allowing you to analyze all payments collectively.
For OnlineFundraising to receive data from MobilePay numbers, you first need to approve us as a partner in MobilePay, and then create a so-called Credential in OnlineFundraising.
How much data do you need?
MobilePay offers two different data packages:
Basic package: Contains each payment and four of the eight digits from the phone number. This is primarily used to get an overview of all incoming donations.
Extended package: Contains each payment along with the full phone number and the donor’s name. This incurs an additional fee from MobilePay but enables you to contact donors afterwards.
With OnlineFundraising, you can combine these options – for instance, only using the extended data where it makes sense.
| Note: The setup differs depending on the data package you choose. This guide describes the process for receiving four digits plus the donation amount. If you wish to receive the full phone number, please follow this guide instead > |
Log in to the MobilePay portal
Begin by logging into your organisation’s MobilePay account.
Grant OnlineFundraising partner access
Once logged in, select Reports in the main menu, then choose Accounting Partners, and click Edit Partner Access.
You will now see a window where you can search for accounting partners. Locate and add OnlineFundraising from the list.
Here, you can choose to add all existing numbers. But remember to repeat the process when you add additional numbers in the future.
Add the MobilePay number in OnlineFundraising
Once partner access is granted in MobilePay, log in to OnlineFundraising and go to the Payment Receiver menu (1), then the Credentials tab (2), and click Add New (3) on the right-hand side.
A new window will appear. At this time, you can only set up MobilePay as a source, but more options will be added in the future. Give the connection a meaningful name – “MobilePay Number” is a good suggestion – and then click Authenticate Credential.
This will confirm the connection between OnlineFundraising and MobilePay’s reporting module. It may take a few minutes to complete the handshake, so feel free to take a tea or coffee break before proceeding.
Register All MobilePay Numbers as Processors
Now you must add each MobilePay number you wish to receive data from. This is done in the Processor tab. You can find the relevant guide here >
Note: A separate processor must be created for each individual MobilePay number.
